This piece gets its name from the huge primitive agate beads. The original design was composed of the agate barrels and metal spacers, it looked like something Wilma Flintstone would wear. Except that it was heavy enough to crush your trachea. So, I went back to the drawing board and this was the end result.

It's still a tad heavy due to the sheer size of the agates, but not uncomfortably so. It's sized slightly larger than a choker.

Sweet earrings featuring a unique shade of moukite. Moukite (also spelled mookite, moukaite) is a member of the jasper family. I fell in love with this stone at the bead show a couple months ago. Perfect for fall, its shades range from light lemon yellow to mustard yellow, rose pink, muted shades of purple and deep burgundies all the way to the "veined varieties" which sometimes look like tie dye.

Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday. I just had to make some fun goodies to mark the occasion.
These are stretch bracelets made with glass and /or resin beads. The pumpkins and candy corn beads are handmade glass. Not by me though! I'm quite flammable.

They look good enough to eat. But I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a good dental plan. Still...less calories than real candy corn...so...hmmm.

Last month I visited a local bead show and discovered a beautiful new stone called Moukite (sometimes spelled Mookite). The colors of this stone vary from margarine yellow to dark magenta red with variations of lemon and lavender in between. I was so impressed, I bought every piece on the table! This pair of earrings features two of those beautiful stones. There are a medium on the heaviness scale. I made myself a pair and wore them all day without any discomfort. You wouldn't believe how many compliments I got!
